The first iPhone was unveiled in January 2007 and released in June, meaning Apple will mark its 20th anniversary in 2027. The company has long been rumored to be preparing something special, and a new leak from Digital Chat Station on Weibo adds more details.
Interestingly, after years of favoring flat displays and influencing much of the Android market to do the same, Apple now appears to be shifting toward a curved design, similar to what some Chinese smartphone brands have explored before.
According to the leak, Apple is collaborating with Samsung to develop the display for this anniversary model. The screen is said to feature a quad-curved design with a custom curvature radius and will lack a polarizer, making it thinner.
While the display will use newer technology, it won’t be the first without a polarizer. It’s still unclear how far the screen will extend over the edges, as earlier rumors hinted at a fully “all-screen” design, which remains difficult with current tech. More details are expected in the future.
