Jungfraujoch is known as the Top of Europe as it is the highest point in Europe that is accessible only by train and it’s called the “Cogwheel Train”. The cogwheel railway track to Jungfraujoch was completed in 1912 and has been in continuous use ever since.

There are several routes up to Jungfraujoch but the fastest trains from Interlaken to Jungfraujoch take around 1 hour and 36 minutes, covering a distance of approximately 18 kilometers.

The viewing point from Jungfraujoch offers breathtaking perspective views of the eternally snow-capped mountains and overlooks the beautiful Aletsch Glacier.

It is a Switzerlan’s highest serviced mountain hut. There is a short hike from Jungfraujoch to Mönchsjochhütte, on a marked footpath which takes around 45 to 60 minutes
